10 Bali Bars to Sip-Away Sunsets

When you think about Bali, what comes to mind? Stunning seaside sunsets, bottomless cocktails and soft, white sandy beaches? If yes, rest assured this is only the beginning. Bali offers endless options for cocktail sipping and we’ve found the top 10 places to sip-away the sunsets on the Island of the Gods.

Azul Beach Club – The newest social hangout in Legian that should be at the top of your must-visit list. The impressive bamboo structure comprises dining sections, bar, lounges, casual beach club vibes and unobstructed views of the Indian Ocean. Located in the immaculate grounds of Bali Mandira Beach Resort, Azul is the perfect spot for a cold cocktail and swim by day or a stylish sunset dining experience by night.

Woo Bar – the W Hotel’s hottest spot is Woo bar. The poolside bar is open from 10am but the real fun starts when the sun goes down. Sunset sessions start at 4pm everyday with chilled out beats, epic sunset views and most importantly 2-for-1 cocktails and complimentary pizzas (Monday – Thursday).

Ku De Ta – the original and arguably the best beach club in Bali. If you’re looking for sophistication Ku De Ta has it all. Get there early and put your name down for a day bed. Don’t forget your bathers as Ku De Ta now hosts a stunning infinity pool overlooking Seminyak beach.

Potato Head – as you come down the driveway to Potato Head you just know there is something different about this beach club. The curved exterior of the building is covered in colourful shutters and once you walk through the doors you really feel like you’re in another world.

Grab a seat at the bar, a comfy day bed around the pool or even a table at MoVida. Whatever you do, don’t leave without having a Millionaire Martini. It comes with two drinks; a passionfruit martini and a glass of champagne topped with passionfruit foam.

Coccoon Beach Club – this secluded beach gem is centrally located between Seminyak and Legian. Famous for its weekly Sunday pool parties with world class DJs, this is your place if you’re looking for something a little more upbeat. There is also a restaurant serving Mediterranean delights on the rooftop terrace.

Finn’s beach club Canggu – Previously located in Uluwatu, Finn’s has now taken residence at Berawa Beach Canggu. The new location features an enormous bamboo structure, built for housing unobstructed sunset views, fiyr dining areas and a 30m infinity pool.

La Plancha – a colourful bar on a wide stretch of sand in Seminyak. With bright bean bags and umbrellas dotting the water’s edge, a trip to this hotspot is a must. Serving Spanish tapas and open all day, it’s a bar worth stopping by, especially at sunset.

Single Fin  – what started as a surfer’s hangout is now one of Uluwatu’s coolest and busiest. The main deck overlooking the surf below is massive, but if you intend to be here at sunset don’t forget to book a table as it will pack out.

Old Man’s Canngu – Colourful, quirky and much more relaxed than its Seminyak counterparts. Old Man’s is located 10 minutes from Seminyak and can offer some of the best surf on the island. With a relatively cheap and simple menu it’s a breath of fresh air compared to some of the more luxe beach bars in the area.

Rock Bar – perched upon lofty cliffs by the sea, Rock Bar is one of Bali’s most iconic ocean bars. The extravagance of this hotspot begins with the cable car ride down the cliff and once you reach the bar your jaw will hit the ground. Ocean as far as the eye can see, world-famous DJs and signature cocktails.
